Mark Holub - Musician

New Jersey-born drummer, Mark Holub, began his career playing jazz, rock and free improvisation around New York.  He attended the Berklee College of Music jazz summer programme, got his BA from Leeds Collegeof Music, and his MA from Middlesex University, where he studed with top UK drummers, Martin France and Paul Clarvis.

Mark has led various ensembles and his current band, Led Bib, plays his original compositions and was the winner of the 2005 Peter Whittingham Jazz Award.  Led Bib released their debut album, Arboretum, in April 2005 to rave reviews internationally  (www.ledbib.com).  Current projects include work in a vast array of styles with artists such as Patrick Dawes (Groove Armada, Richie Havens), The Luke Barlow Band, Signdance Collective, and work as contemporary dance accompanist.  In June 2006, Mark co-ordinated The Dalston Suimmer Stew, a comtemporary jazz festival at the Vortex jazz club in London.

 Mark is active in freelancing with jazz and experimental acts throughout the UK, and also regularly tours in Europe and the US.
